sister cities gather in Redondo Beach

On June 28, 2011 the Mayor of La Paz, Esthela Ponce, visited its Sister City - Redondo Beach. At a press conference held at the Redondo Beach Historical Library Mayor Ponce announced a campaign to bring awareness to the public about La Paz, which is the capitol of the Baja California South state in Mexico.

The tourism board is touting a new study which found that the La Paz crime statistics rank as one of the safest cities of it's size (240k) in all of the Californias. It comes in 3rd behind Murrieta and Mission Viejo California.

La Paz which translates to "peace" is located on the beautiful Sea of Cortez by the southern tip of Baja.
